A few pieces of frankincense are all you need to begin. Start small and follow the instructions supplied with your burner and charcoal.
What you need
- Omani frankincense resin
- A suitable incense burner with a heat-resistant charcoal holder
- Incense charcoal, tongs and a lighter
- A stable, non-flammable, heat-resistant surface
Prepare your space
Keep the burner away from curtains, paper and other flammable materials. Keep children and pets away. Follow the manufacturer’s ventilation and lighting instructions.
Light the charcoal
Hold the tablet with suitable tongs and light it according to its packaging. Place it in the intended charcoal holder. Never place hot charcoal directly against glass or on furniture.
Add a little resin
Wait until the tablet is evenly glowing and its surface begins to turn grey. Add one or two small pieces of resin. Add more only if needed; a little goes a long way.
Finish carefully
Never leave burning incense unattended. Do not touch or move the hot burner. Allow the charcoal and ash to cool completely before disposal, following the burner and charcoal instructions.
Store your Luban
Keep the jar closed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. These products are offered as incense, not as food or drink.
